  • Herbert McCants

    Herbert McCants

Herbert McCants is a Freshman Author from Mobile, Alabama. At an early age, he developed a love for words through music. As time passed his poetry took on a sort of self-medicating, soothing voice of inward calm.

As a man of 6'4" and an athletic build he spent a lot of time doing part-time work as a bouncer, DJ, and Club Manager - turning situations and real-life events into springboards of writing material.

Soon the pull of the nightlife gave way to his need for spiritual growth. As life changed so too has his writing. And now Herbert shares his poems of love and life with you. He's waiting on you at table 3, a cup of Caramel Macchiato Cappuccino in hand.

After twenty-three years as an electrician for Consolidated Edison Company in New York City, Ledell Boyd thought it was time to commit pen to paper to pursue one of his greatest loves - poetry. His wife, Ceola, noted he had great ideas and told him to "put them together and let the world know how you feel." • Saniyah Baker-Boatwright

    Saniyah Baker-Boatwright

Saniyah Baker-Boatwright was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 7, 1999. A few years later she moved to Alabama to reside. She’s an Author, Entrepreneur, and CEO and Founder of TWeen Queen Empowering Sisterhood.

Through her organization, she mentors young girls ages 13-19 in becoming the women they are destined to be by empowering, encouraging, and inspiring them. In 2017, with an Advanced Honors Diploma, she graduated from Murphy High School with a 4.2 GPA. In her spare time, she loves to mentor, journal, read/write poems and stories, travel, listen to music, enjoy good food, spend time with family and friends, and of course go shopping. Speaking of writing, being able to encourage young teenagers that they can go after their dreams and break generational curses, even when they are to face challenging situations is the main reason why she became an author.

Her brand is to empower, encourage, inspire, and understand, young teenagers and adults who are feeling alone and don’t know their worth. Because she was once that girl who didn’t know her self-worth, who listened to societal views, and who was afraid to become the woman she was destined to be, she is now able to pass on her life lessons through her writing, which was depicted in her first book, That Girl Who?. Her most favorite thing about being an Author is seeing and hearing about the impact that she has made on young teenagers and adult’s lives by being so real and relatable in her writing. She looks forward to connecting with teenagers, helping them define their purpose, and cheering them on through their accomplishments! More details on that will be addressed at a later time!

Much of our time is spent building, guarding, and maintaining emotional walls that guard us from genuine relationships with others. Sooner or later, our well-meaning construction efforts reveal our vast inability to protect ourselves. Instead, they serve to separate us from those who love us most, including God. We can take steps to break down those faulty walls and use the debris to create altars to the Lord. Lindsay Allen’s book titled “Trading Walls for Altars” is designed to help us do just that.
